DEADLINE for submitting proposals for American Folklore Society Annual Meeting 2006.
AFS's 2006 annual meeting will be held October 18-22 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For information about the meeting and its theme of "Homelands and Diasporas" (on which presentations are encouraged but not required), and on the types of and rules for submitting meeting proposals of all kinds, please go to www.afsnet.org/annualmeet/index.cfm
Professionalization workshop #6. Introduction to Publishing. Judith McCulloh from the University of Illinois Press will present this special workshop.

Ruth Stone is Laura Boulton Professor of Ethnomusicology at Indiana University. Bill Ivey, chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, 1998-2001, is currently Director, Curb Center for Art, Enterprise, and Public Policy, Vanderbilt University, and President, The American Folklore Society.
