Center for Folklore Studies Fall Welcome Meeting, 10:00 am - noon, Dulles 344The Center is holding a welcome meeting for students and interested faculty. Come get reacquainted and learn more about what's up-and-coming for the 2006-2007 academic year.

Show Time, 3:30 pm, Dulles 308During the academic year, the Center for Folklore Studies will host informal showings of movies dealing with topics of interest to those working in cultural studies. Please feel free to walk in and join us during these monthly showings. Titles of featured movies will be posted on this calendar prior to showing.

2006 American Folklore Society Annual Meeting in MilwaukeeOf special interest is a pre-meeting symposium, The Futures of Scholarship and Public Practice in Folklore, October 18. For more information, consult www.afsnet.org. If you're attending the meeting, make sure to join us on Thursday, October 19, from 9:00-10:30 pm in the Hyatt Hotel, Milwaukee A & B, for the OSU Dessert Reception, hosted by the Center for Folklore Studies.
