Our very own Sydney Varajon (PhD candidate) was spotted in the Hallmark Channel film Christmas at Dollywood which aired in December. For Sydney it was fieldwork, of course. Nevertheless, congratulations on her Hallmark picture debut!

Dr. Mark Bender, chair of the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, announced the publication of Meige, the translation of  a version of a folk epic of the Yi ethnic group from Chuxiong prefecture, Yunnan province, China in in 1959.

Craycraft Featured in OSU Alumni Magazine

Sarah Craycraft will be featured in the upcoming Winter 2019 issue of OSU's alumni magazine. The story covers her participation in a Bulgaria-based program called Residencia Baba and her path from her undergraduate work, to Bulgaria, to folklore studies at Ohio State.
