Danielle V. Schoon was awarded a Common Reading Grant from UCAT for the Spring 2018 semester to support her facilitation of a book group. Faculty from NELC, Comp Studies, and Cultural Geography read and discussed Teaching Interculturally, A Framework for Integrating Disciplinary Knowledge and Intercultural Development, a book that provides faculty and instructors with a theoretical foundation, practical tools, and an iterative and reflective process for designing and implementing an intercultural pedagogy. The members of the group also took part in a one-day program with the book's authors sponsored by UCAT, Reimagining Teaching to Promote Student Engagement and Inclusion, on Tuesday, March 20th.
