Congratulations to Smog Veil Records! CFS friend/English department alum Frank Mauceri and his team have just released “Peter Laughner,” a boxed set documenting the life, music, and music journalism of the legendary Cleveland underground singer-songwriter. 56 song recordings and a 100-page book represent ten years of effort collecting and archiving, anthologizing and remastering. (Many CFS affiliates will remember our 2015 Ohio Underground event and workshop with the archival team, followed by a riveting performance from David Thomas of Rocket From the Tombs and Pere Ubu.) It is an amazing assemblage of the Northeast Ohio scene in the early 1970s, a hard-living moment for musicians.
