Faculty and Associates
Folklore is both a discipline with its own tradition of inquiry and an interdisciplinary field touching multiple areas in the humanities, arts, and social sciences. What follows is by no means an exhaustive list of the faculty who regularly collaborate with the Center for Folklore Studies. Rather, the people listed here either work within the disciplinary tradition of folklore or have a formal role in the OSU folklore curriculum (for example, in offering qualitative methods courses).
Core Faculty
Our core faculty members teach the preponderance of folklore courses at OSU and are active participants in shaping the folklore curriculum. They are active nationally and internationally in the field of folklore, publishing research and participating in such organizations as the American Folklore Society. In almost every case they have degrees in folklore or the equivalent, and they are accustomed to advising folklore students on research projects.
