Center for Folklore Studies Media

The Center for Folklore Studies Media Collection contains 840+ original items generated by faculty and staff. The collection’s materials were created from 1970-2012, and include a variety of audio/visual formats, including: Reel to Reel Audio Tapes; Video Reels; Audio Cassette Tapes; VHS Tapes; CD/DVD; and Mini Digital Video Cassettes. 

Research materials include interview transcripts on other audio documentation from fieldwork research conducted by Dr. Pat Mullen in Texas and Dr. Katherine Borland in Masaya, Nicaragua. The Center for Folklore Studies teaching materials including classroom instructional audio for English and folklore classes; lectures series donated by prominent folklorists (e.g. Margaret Mills and Ray Cormeir); and materials for the OSU Summer Folklore Institute. The collection contains documentation from several conferences hosted at Ohio State, and digital copies of presentations given at the American Folklore Society Annual Conference from 2004-2009. 

The materials in this collection represent the changing research, pedagogical, and disciplinary networking activities conducted by Center for Folklore Studies Faculty and Staff throughout its history.
