The Ohio State provides a range of options for studying folklore as a major or minor concentration. Because of new initiatives and new hires, these options are expanding; structures are also changing as we work to consolidate and coordinate our offerings. It is therefore strongly recommended that you consult folklore faculty members as you make your plans so that you can be guided to the most appropriate opportunities. Students at all levels are invited to contact cfs@osu.edu to make an appointment to discuss their interests. In addition, all students are welcome to attend Center activities to explore a possible interest.

In 2021, Dr. Amy Shuman, Dr. Katherine Borland, and Grad Student Daisy Ahlstone collaborated on a video overview of The Ohio State University Folklore Program. While the program is ever-evolving, prospective students may be interested in engaging this video to gain a sense of Folklore at OSU.
