Welcome back, CFS-ers! Join the Center for Folklore Studies for an informal virtual gathering to kick off the new school year. BYOVE (bring your own virtual everything). All are welcome!
Things to look forward to at this CFS (Virtual) Monthly Lunch:
- We'll put folks into breakout rooms based on what they want to talk about most. Here's a list of the rooms so far: Meet-n-greet new folks (Host: Amy Shuman); Talk CFS programming and events (Host: Cassie Patterson); Questions about the CFS academic program (Host: Dorry Noyes); Information about the Rendville Cemetery Research Project and Building Out Black Narratives During a Pandemic Workshop (Host: Jasper Waugh-Quasebarth); Open hangout (No host).
- Dr. Kaplan will introduce folks to Gather, an online platform that we will use at future lunches so that folks can mingle and bump into one another virtually. We encourage folks to register with Gather ahead of time so you can test out the space!
- We'll introduce you to the OSU Folklore Community Slack, which we will use throughout the year for asynchronous and informal communication. Slack is available from OSU's Self Service portal and from wherever you download apps for your phone.
- Give us your feedback! What works, and what doesn't? What barriers do we need to consider?
If you require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Cassie Rosita Patterson at patterson.493@osu.edu. Requests made two weeks before the event will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
