A grieving young woman joins her boyfriend and his fellow graduate students on their trip to a rural mid-summer festival in a remote Swedish village. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly develops into an increasingly violent series of rituals at the hands of a strange cult.
Dani (Florence Pugh) and Christian (Jack Reynor) are a young American couple with a relationship on the brink of falling apart. But after a family tragedy keeps them together, Christian invites Dani to join him and his friends on their trip to Northern Europe. What begins as a carefree summer holiday in the land of eternal summer sunlight takes a sinister turn when the insular villagers invite their guests to partake in festivities that render the pastoral paradise increasingly unnerving and viscerally disturbing.
