Cristina Benedetti, Graduate Archivist for the Center for Folklore Studies, has received a Gerald E. and Corinne L. Parsons Fund Grant from the American Folklife Center to conduct research at the Library of Congress on  depression-era political protests.  This research is part of a larger dissertation project that explores the National Mall as a setting for grassroots performances of Americanness.  Cristina will be traveling to Washington in July.
