Dorothy Noyes elected President of American Folklore Society

Dorry Noyes
We are pleased to announce that Dorry Noyes has been elected President of the American Folklore Society (AFS) for the 2018-2020 term. Dorry has been a stalwart defender of folklore studies at OSU, nationally and internationally, where she has worked assiduously to enhance the visibility of our small but vibrant field. Her scholarly essays represent the best in current thinking on matters of tradition, innovation and cultural resilience. Already a Folklore Fellow, an honorary group made up of the most illustrious society members, Dorry is well-positioned to represent AFS in ever-widening venues inside and outside the academy. We could not be prouder of her, of our program, and of the field of folklore.
