Elena Foulis Publishes iBook on Latinos in Ohio
Congratulations to Dr. Elena Foulis, who has published Latin@ Stories Across Ohio, an iBook available for free on iTunes. Latin@ Stories Across Ohio is a bilingual oral history book that documents Latino life using interviews. It includes the stories of women and men, older and younger generations, artists, students, activists, educators, and everyday people in English and Spanish. It uses the traditional elements of oral history methodology along with maps, video, pictures, audio and text. It is the first oral history iBook produced by The Ohio State University.
The oral history project and the iBook have been partially funded by the Ohio Hispanic Heritage Project and Department of Spanish and Portuguese. This will book will also be the main text for Elena’s fall course, SPAN 5689S.
Dr. Foulis's book is based on a series of interviews she conducted in 2014, which you can read about and view on the Center for Folklore Studies' webpage for her collection, Oral Narratives of Latin@s in Ohio.
