Folklore Archives Alumni Spotlight: Benjamin Beachy

Benjamin working at the Heritage Center at his hometown in Holmes County, Ohio.

2019-2020 Archival Intern Benjamin Beachy was accepted into the MLIS program at Kent State University and has started his first semester. Beachy shares, "this fall semester is mostly comprised of introductory classes, but I plan to specialize in Archival Studies as I progress. I wouldn't be here without the inspiration and advice I received from the lovely people at CFS--being exposed to the Center's ethnographic work made clear the value of diligent archiving." During his year serving as Archival Intern at the Folklore Archives, Beachy worked on the Tender Letters Project, which involved digitizing the early 20th Century courtship letters of Jacob and Lenora Lapp, great-grandparents of our longtime Ohio Field School community partner, Barbara Bradbury.
