Congratulations to Martha Sims, who is a recipient of The Ohio State University 2017 Outstanding First Year Advocate Award! The award “recognizes contributions of exceptional faculty and staff to first-year student success,” honoring those who have “demonstrated a passion beyond their typical job responsibilities for helping students make the most of their first year, fostering personal connections with or among first-year students, implementing policies that helped make first-year student success possible, and serving as a resource to new students.” Martha is a Senior Lecturer and PhD candidate in English, who goes above and beyond to provide students with intensive and foundation writing skills, and to connect them with much-needed campus resrouces.
