Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Alma Santos

Alma Santos was born in Mexico and grew up in California. She moved to Ohio in 1998. Santos talks to us about the first years in Columbus, her professional life and how her mother collected and donated food to the Latino/a immigrant community on the west side. Santos and her mother believe in giving back since, for many years, they too visited many food banks. She now works as the coordinator for Our Lady of Guadalupe Center, a food pantry that serves many families, including Latino/a families.
