On November 6, 2019, the Folklore Student Association (FSA) is hosting a dinner with Dr. Jasper Waugh-Quasebarth, a new post-doctoral researcher with the Center for Folklore Studies. This event will give students interested in fieldwork the opportunity to workshop their dissertation or other research project plans, while receiving guidance and practical starter kits for future success. The workshop will begin with an introduction to Dr. Waugh-Quasebarth’s work, addressing how he both came to his dissertation project and managed multi-sited fieldwork, which will be followed by a session during which students can share their own project ideas. Dr. Waugh-Quasebarth will offer guidance on various stages of the process—including preliminary planning, finding funding for fieldwork opportunities, fieldwork management, and taking steps toward publication.
Food, refreshments, and research starter kits will be provided. RSVP to marsden.11@osu.edu. (The first three RSVPs will receive a free book!)
The event is FREE and open to the public.
