Maple Syrup Tapping at Hurricane Run Farm

January 26 - January 28, 2017
6:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Hurricane Run Farm, Portsmouth, Ohio

Barb and Kevin Bradbury, one of our community partners for the Ohio Field Schools, have invited us to assist with the maple syrup tapping that will take place on their organic farm, Hurricane Run Farm, in Portsmouth, Ohio from the evening of January 26th through mid-day of the 29th. We will assist them with getting the maple sap lines up, tubing the trees, and getting ready for the sap flow, which might begin in early February (depending on the weather). Folks can come down for a day trip or choose to stay overnight--whatever works best for you! Those who stay overnight will be able to sleep in the barn (which is nice and warm). Plan to dress warm and to wear outdoor-ready shoes that you can climb hills in.

Please email Cassie at patterson.493@osu.edu to let her know that you're interested in attending and which day(s) you can stay.
