Dr. Jessica Turner will host a conversation with students and young professionals about strategies for facilitating difficult but necessary conversations within large, diverse organizations within the public sector. Turner will share her experiences serving as the Director of the Smithsonian-affiliated Birthplace of Country Music Museum as well as her experiences in her current role of Executive Director of the American Folklore Society. Students are welcome to bring their personal experiences to share in a discussion of how we as folklorists can sensitively deploy the methodologies and ethics of our field when we participate in community-based collaborations.
Co-sponsors of this event include the Folklore Student Association and the Humanities Institute.
This event requires registration. RSVP to Mariah Marsden(.11).
