Congratulations to Dr. Joanna Spanos, who today successfully defended her dissertation, "Redeeming Susanna Cox: A Pennsylvania German Infanticide in Community Tradition." Her highly interdisciplinary committee consisted of Dorry Noyes as chair, with Richard Firth Green, Margaret Mills, and Randy Roth. Dr. Spanos assures any anxious colleagues that her next project will deal not with infanticide but with poisoning. We wish Joanna (and Matt, Ben, and Mairen!) a joyful celebration of this milestone.
