Bishal Karna successfully defended his dissertation this afternoon, titled "Skillful Ways: Soto Zen Buddhism in the American Midwest." His committee consisted of Dorothy Noyes (co-chair), Tom Kasulis (co-chair), Melissa Curley, and Katey Borland.
