Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Congratulations to Dr. Afsane Rezaei (Department of Comparative Studies), who defended a fine dissertation in a lively discussion. Entitled “Agency Between Narratives: Women, Faith, and Sociability in Irangeles,” it shows how interaction among women in domestic celebrations, faith-based activities, and community organizations can expand popular and scholarly understandings of agency. Her committee consisted of Katey Borland, Morgan Liu, and Dorry Noyes as chair. We all look forward to the book!
