Congratulations to Madeleine Smith, who has passed her qualifying exams. She is moving forward to conduct oral history research with formerly incarcerated people, both prison reform/abolition activists and others outside activist circles, who are interested in telling their own stories. Her committee, Miranda Martinez, Dorry Noyes, and Noah Tamarkin, and advisor Katey Borland, are excited about the potential of this engaged project to make a difference in people’s lives.
