Tony Maggio (undergraduate minor in Folklore) is the winner of this year's Daniel R. Barnes Award for best undergraduate student paper. The reviewers had the following to say about Tony's essay, Children of Recovery, "The author uses ethnographic interviews to delve into the issues surrounding addiction and familial response. They effectively explores the difficulties related to, in their own words, 'separat[ing] the person from their addiction instead of looking down on them as one entity.' The readers appreciated the delicacy necessary to approach this topic, and we hope that the author has the opportunity to further situate the project within the related scholarship." Congratulations, Tony!
