Congratulations to Sarah Craycraft and her collaborators, Elena Stoycheva and Sonya Pencheva, who were awarded a Fulbright alumni grant to continue working on a collaborative project in Bulgaria.

Open Wardrobes is an ongoing effort to document village textile collections and the stories of the women who keep these collections. Using interview and photography, we document the process of unpacking closets full of ordinary and special occasion items, almost all made by hand, and airing out the narratives nestled alongside these everyday items. The Fulbright Alumni Grant will support additional village documentation sessions, the creation of an online gallery, and the production of two teaching resources  that draw on the gallery and incorporating material culture into the classroom.
