Barbara Lloyd, the Center's first Associate Director, retired this spring. Barbara worked alongside Pat Mullen, Amy Shuman, Dorothy Noyes, and Ray Cashman to build and expand the the Center for Folklore Studies over the past 11 years. Her contributions to the program, its faculty and students, and the field of folklore are immeasurable.

In 2012 Barbara was nominated for two staff awards--the University Distinguished Staff Award and the Arts and Sciences Outstanding Staff Award--for her service. Read the FSA's PDF letter of support [pdf] for Barbara.

Barbara resides in Columbus, OH with her husband, Tim Lloyd, the Director of the American Folklore Society. She looks forward to traveling the world with Tim, visiting her daughter Rebecca in Salt Lake City, UT, and continuing her contributions to folklore scholarship.
