Nathan Young left for Turkey on February 1st for six months of fieldwork in Ankara. He says: "I am researching instances and means by which some Turks maintain connection to their alleged villages and places of origin through various nostalgia projects. Hopefully, I'll gain additional insight into situated reactions and responses to 'global' currents as well as disillusionment with 'modern' urban lifeways. I'll be back in the fall, and look forward to catching up with our OSU folklore community then!"
