Dorothy Noyes Contributes to Interdisciplinary Research Blog

CFS core faculty member Dorothy Noyes contributed to the blog for the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Cultural Property of the German Research Foundation. Her post is titled An Operatic Cultural Property: Smetana in Berlin.

The Interdisciplinary Research Group on Cultural Property of the German Research Foundation brings together folklorists, ethnologists, lawyers, and economists to study the impact of international regimes to protect traditions as heritage and/or cultural property.Their blog features contributions from Regina Bendix on culinary analogies for cultural preservation, Valdimar Hafstein on the fusty smell of heritage, Dorothy Noyes on operatic Folklorisms and policy misunderstandings, and much more.
