Congratulations to Sophia Enriquez, who passed her doctoral exams last week with an interdisciplinary committee consisting of Danielle Fosler-Lussier (chair), Michelle Wibbelsman, Dorry Noyes, and Ryan Skinner. After a summer that also included fieldwork in Mexico and a Humanities Without Walls fellowship, Sophia now begins her dissertation on Latinx musicmaking in Appalachian spaces, with its exclusions and hybrids and confluences.
