Stephanie Vigil is a Salvadoran American PhD candidate in Teaching & Learning, with a focus on Foreign, Second, and Multilingual Language Education, as well as interdisciplinary specializations in Folklore and Latino/a Studies. As a secondary school English language teacher in Japan, Stephanie enjoyed teaching Greek mythology to her students and Latin American culture to community members through weekend cooking and crafting courses. As a doctoral student, Stephanie serves as a GRA for the Center for Folklore Studies and a GTA for pre-service teachers in the TESOL program. She is currently focused on the effects of integrating folk narrative digital multimodal composition projects into English as a second language classrooms in K-12 contexts.
