Timothy Liam Waters is the incoming Postdoctoral Scholar at CFS and the Humanities Institute, supported by a Global Arts + Humanities Collaborative Centers Grant, with a project on literary materialisms, generative AI, and folkloric reception of the Old Norse literary corpus. He has taught undergraduate courses on topics such as the representation of myth in modern media, Viking-Age travel literature, and Old Norse language. He currently serves on the editorial board of the journal, "Old Norse Studies" (Trivent Publishing). Liam received his PhD in the Department of Scandinavian and Program in Medieval Studies at UC Berkeley. He received his BA in Anglo-Saxon, Norse & Celtic from the University of Cambridge, Clare College and his MA in Scandinavian Studies from UC Berkeley.
